Make an Internet-ready Power outlet
An event of Singapore Design Week
Imagine being able to switch on and off any home electrical appliance from Twitter. Sure this is no longer cutting-edge home automation tech, but it's still a fun small DIY project to get you started in the world of practical electronics.
We'll hack on a micro-controller, ethernet port and a relay to a power extension cord and then program it to make it talk to the Internet.
You'll also get to bring home your final creation and make it even more awesome. Take-home materials provided: Freaduino Uno, Power extension cord, Relay, Ethernet shield.
